My Love Affair With Stones

I have always had an affinity for rocks. 

All my life I have found comfort and calm just sitting on a big rock. Whether in the woods, by a river, on a lake shore or by the ocean, I always seem to find one with a perfect seat.  I often go to sit on rocks when I feel overtired, stressed, in pain, or just generally overwhelmed with whatever is going on in my world at the time. Spending time just sitting on big rocks has brought me a lot of peace over the years. These days, I understand why. The grounding energy from Mother Earth coming through the rocks is very healing.

I also have a thing for smaller stones of all kinds. I find new friends everywhere! Random rocks that want to come home with me. I have a nearly perfectly round river rock found in a friend’s driveway in Alberta. One heck of a find in the middle of a prairie province! I’m always on the lookout for new stones, you just never know when or where you will find something special.

It is so clear to me now that I was instinctively drawn to the big rocks, their grounding and healing in times of stress and overwhelm and the little ones were grounding gifts that I could carry with me. 

Around 2010, after many years of just following my intuition and love of the stones, I began my journey into learning more about crystals and stones and their properties, how they could help me in more ways. I started visiting metaphysical shops and let my intuition guide me in finding the ones that wanted to come home with me. I would "hang out" with whatever I found, getting a sense of the energy and then look up the properties. Without fail, it was just what I needed at the time for whatever I was feeling.

Over the last 15 years, I have only gone deeper and in 2020, I became certified as a crystal healer.  I now use my intuitive sense and knowledge of human anatomy and energy to choose the stones for my clients and what they are needing. The results never cease to amaze me.

Working with the energy of the stones and helping people feel better, calmer and more balanced, especially in these strange and stressful times, has become such a joy. I’ve had people reach deep states of relaxation and receive real and lasting pain relief. There is no way to describe how it feels to see the smile on the face of a soul who has just experienced deep relaxation and healing, who is feeling calmer and more balanced in themselves. It is truly an honour to be a part of and to witness.
